Product Description:
The polypropylene powder coatings is a thermoplastic powder coatings prepared with polypropylene, functional additives, compatibilizers, pigments etc. It has excellent mechanical performance and corrosion resistance, as well as higher hardness and abrasion resistance.
Application Area:
Polypropylene powder coatings is suitable for the coating of metal furniture, shelf racks in dishwasher, and the metal workpieces with the requirements on hardness and abrasion resistance.
Powder Coatings Properties:
Dry fluidity: fluidization floating ≥20%
Non-volatile content: ≥99.5%
Specific gravity: 0.91-0.95 (varies by different colors)
Particle size distribution: ≤250um
Melting point: 100-160℃
Storage:
Store in a ventilated, dry room below 35℃ to prevent proximity to the fire source. The storage period is two years from the date of production. After the expiration date should be retested, qualified can still be used. In addition, it is recommended to use the products in a first-in, first-out method.
Packing: Using composite kraft paper bag packaging, each bag net weight of 25 kg.
Instruction:
Pretreatment: high temperature method, solvent method, or chemical method, sandblasting method to remove rust. After the treatment, the substrate surface shall be neutral.
The preheating temperature of the workpiece is 250-400℃ ,it can be adjusted according to the heat capacity of the workpiece (i. e., metal thickness).
Fluidized bed immersion coating for 4-8 seconds, can be adjusted according to the metal thickness and the shape of the workpiece.
Plasticity at 200 ± 20℃ for 0-5 min (a heated plasticizing process is required to obtain a smooth coating).
Cooling: Natural cooling or air cooling.
Coating Performance:
Sample panel prepared for the following test sheet.
2mm thick steel plate, degreasing and rust removal, and coating applied with thickness of 400μm.
Color GB/T9761 | No visible difference (compared with the standard plate) |
Appearance (visual inspection) | smooth (slight orange peel is permissible) |
Film thickness μm GB/T 13452.2 | 250~600 |
Gloss % GB/T 9754, 60° | 50~60 |
Bending (with the film thickness of 200μm) GB/T 6742 | ≤2mm |
Shore hardness (D) GB/T 2411 | 60 |
Adhesion (JT/T 6001) | Level 0-1 |
Impact test (9N·m) GB/T18226 | No peeling or fracture in the coating |
Salt spray (no crossing) 500h GB/T 18226 | No blistering, peeling and rusting |
Environmental stress cracking GB/T 1842 | More than 1,000h |
Artificial weathering resistance for 1,000h GB/T 1865 | No blistering and cracking |
Soak in hot water at 90℃ for 10 days | No blistering and cracking |
European Union standard for food contact test | Qualified |
Hygiene & Safety:
The powder coating is a non-toxic product, but dust inhalation should be avoided during use. Operators are recommended to wear appropriate dust masks and glasses.
If possible, avoid long-term skin contact with powder coatings. We recommend installing an edge exhaust fan above the fluid- bed.
Caution:
To obtain optimal adhesion, phosphorization or coloring is recommended on the basis of substrate degreasing and rust removal.
Design sharp parts shall be grounded, no gap in welding, the metal thickness and wire diameter in the workpiece shall be close.
As with all polymer powders, especially under flowing conditions, the powder coating can be ignited or burned if exposed to a high-temperature source.
