Product Description:
The JG polyethylene powder coatings are made from polyethylene resins, functional additives, compatibilizers, fillers, and pigments. These coatings have exceptional adhesion, mechanical strength, resistance to weather, electrical insulation, chemical stability, low temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance.
Application Area:
They are suitable for coating engineering structures like protective barriers, fences, and isolation boards in parks, roads, residential communities, highways, airports, and railways.
Powder Coatings Properties:
Dry fluidity: fluidization floating ≥20%
Non-volatile content: ≥99.5%
Specific gravity: 0.91-0.95 (varies by different colors)
Particle size distribution: ≤300um
Melting index: 5-50 g/10min (2.16kg, 190℃) (depends on the workpiece and process)
Storage:
Keep in a well-ventilated, dry room below 35℃ away from any fire sources. The storage period is two years from the production date. After the expiration date, retesting is recommended. If the product passes the test, it can still be used. Additionally, it is advised to use the products in a first-in, first-out manner.
Packing: The coatings are packaged in composite kraft paper bags, with each bag weighing 25 kg.
Instruction:
Pretreatment: high temperature method, solvent method or chemical method, sandblasting method, rust removal method. After the treatment, the substrate surface shall be neutral.
The preheating temperature of the workpiece is 250-350℃, which can be adjusted according to the heat capacity of the workpiece (i. e., metal thickness).
Fluidized bed immersion coating for 4-8 seconds, which can be adjusted according to the metal thickness and the shape of the workpiece.
Plastic for 0-5 min at 180-250℃, and the heated plasticizer process is beneficial to obtain a smooth coating.
Cooling: natural cooling or air cooling.
Coating Performance:
Sample plates that were prepared for the following test tables.
2mm thick steel plate, degrease, rust removal, coating thickness of 400 μ m.

Soaked in 40%NaOH for 45d GB/T11547 | No significant change | |
Soaked in 10%NaCl for 45d GB/T11547 | No significant change |
Hygiene & Safety:
The powder coating is a safe product that is not harmful to health. However, it is important to avoid inhaling the dust when using it. It is recommended for operators to wear suitable masks and goggles to protect themselves.
If possible, try to minimize direct contact with the powder coating on your skin for a long period of time. It is advisable to install a fan above the fluid-bed to remove any excess powder.
Caution:
For the best results, it is recommended to prepare the substrate by degreasing and removing any rust before applying the powder coating.
Excessive heat can cause the coated film to age and change color. On the other hand, if the temperature is too low, it can result in a thin and rough film. Therefore, it is important to determine the optimal heating temperature through testing, taking into consideration the metal thickness and coating facilities.
When designing the workpiece, ensure that any sharp parts are grounded and there are no gaps in the welding. The metal thickness and wire diameter should be closely matched.
This product is not suitable for post-processing or deforming already coated pieces.
Like all polymer powders, especially when in motion, the powder coating can catch fire or burn if exposed to high temperatures.
